How deftly twirls the drifting snow
In swirls and eddies round the trees
( Now barren from their Autumn show )
On Winter's breeze.
Through rusted woods and reveries
I wandered 'til my heart, hollow,
Cried out for you, with urgent pleas.
Yet my hopes fall to ground fallow
And like the Autumn's melodies
Now fading fast, I watch them blow
On Winter's breeze.

I'd Walked Those Woods Yet Never Knew (Bref Double)
I'd walked those woods yet never knew
The secret held within it's bark
I pondered since how I had missed
The mystery which whispers there.
They say her voice can still be heard;
Upon the breeze it echoes through
the dappled leaves, and calls the name,
betrayer of a love once fair
The forest claim'd and made anew
The mortal shell she laid to rest
Her tears remain like morning dew
Within the woods she lay amidst
There can be found her last adeiu
Masked only by the morning's mist.
The secret held within it's bark
I pondered since how I had missed
The mystery which whispers there.
They say her voice can still be heard;
Upon the breeze it echoes through
the dappled leaves, and calls the name,
betrayer of a love once fair
The forest claim'd and made anew
The mortal shell she laid to rest
Her tears remain like morning dew
Within the woods she lay amidst
There can be found her last adeiu
Masked only by the morning's mist.
She Sold The Soul; The Forest Claim'd (Wrapped Refrain)
She sold the soul, he did not hold,
and gave herself to forests mold.
Enwrapped; she stood amidst the dell,
as fingers pierced her mortals shell
and grasp'd her splintered heart, where dwelt, the ashened coal
once burning fierce. Seeking solace she sold the soul.
The forest claim'd her sacrifice
and bound it with immortals price;
no more from lips her whispered pleas
resound. Now ever through the leaves,
the echo's of her breath, 'pon breeze, calls out the name
of one, by whom betrayed, the soul the forest claim'd.
and gave herself to forests mold.
Enwrapped; she stood amidst the dell,
as fingers pierced her mortals shell
and grasp'd her splintered heart, where dwelt, the ashened coal
once burning fierce. Seeking solace she sold the soul.
The forest claim'd her sacrifice
and bound it with immortals price;
no more from lips her whispered pleas
resound. Now ever through the leaves,
the echo's of her breath, 'pon breeze, calls out the name
of one, by whom betrayed, the soul the forest claim'd.
"Hello Darkness, My Old Friend"
Awakened by the thought of you,
within the still of dreams.
So tangible, within my reach;
alive, or so you seemed.
You called to me, to wake from sleep,
gave word that you were near.
But now my eyes, akin to dark
find you have disappeared.
So darkness I've returned to you,
again this night, like last;
for respite from the memories
and shadows that they've cast.
You sing to me your silent song
and cradle me in gloom.
As solitude once more sets in,
reality resumes.
within the still of dreams.
So tangible, within my reach;
alive, or so you seemed.
You called to me, to wake from sleep,
gave word that you were near.
But now my eyes, akin to dark
find you have disappeared.
So darkness I've returned to you,
again this night, like last;
for respite from the memories
and shadows that they've cast.
You sing to me your silent song
and cradle me in gloom.
As solitude once more sets in,
reality resumes.
The Ghosts Were Heard To Banter
The ghosts were heard to banter…
Beneath the mocking moon
As if of silver lining
The spectres shimmer shining
Let playful voices canter
Around the dead lagoon
The ghosts where heard to banter
Beneath the mocking moon
I saw them deep in chatter
They knew not I was there
So lost in impish jestings
With loud object protestings
I thought that they would scatter
My presence it would scare
I saw them deep in chatter
They knew not I was there.
I held my breath evading
For fear that they would hear.
All laughter then to quiet
No more the rowdy riot
They'd fade into the shading
If they knew I was near
I held my breath evading
For fear that they would hear
The ghosts were heard to banter…
Beneath the mocking moon
As if of silver lining
The spectres shimmer shining
Let playful voices canter
Around the dead lagoon
The ghosts where heard to banter
Beneath the mocking moon
Beneath the mocking moon
As if of silver lining
The spectres shimmer shining

The Sandman (Swap Quatrain)
Though sleep had fled, I closed my eyes.
I'd given up my futile tries
of counting sheep; and so instead:
I closed my eyes, though sleep had fled.
There in night's still, a whispered drone,
of shadow, shade, of wraith unknown,
spoke to my thoughts. "Submit your will!"
a whispered drone, there in night's still.
He wove a dream into my mind
and used the lull of words to bind
my consciousness. Desire as theme,
into my mind he wove a dream.
I could not wake, although I tried.
Through endless scenes I seemed to glide,
a spectre there, ne'er to partake,
although I tried. I could not wake!
All in a daze, I woke from rest.
Enchantment burst at sun's behest,
into a technicoloured haze.
I woke from rest, all in a daze.
In daylight's hour, like grains of sand
the visions fade within my hand.
Night's dreams became, without their pow'r,
like grains of sand, in daylight's hour.
I'd given up my futile tries
of counting sheep; and so instead:
I closed my eyes, though sleep had fled.
There in night's still, a whispered drone,

Beyond The Lunar Shallow
Beyond the lunar shallow,
down passed the silver cove,
flew a form so fallow,
through sorrows vale she wove.
Her eyes, they gleamed, though vapid,
(from tears one may surmise)
her breath was short and rapid
amid her mournful cries.
I followed, quick in treading,
this spectre in distress.
Though heedless of her heading
I pursued her nonetheless.
Into a copse she hastened,
I too arrived anon,
where then myself I chastened
for she, alas, had gone!
down passed the silver cove,
flew a form so fallow,
through sorrows vale she wove.
Her eyes, they gleamed, though vapid,
(from tears one may surmise)
her breath was short and rapid
amid her mournful cries.
